Educational Specialist in Administration & Supervision

Sarah Hawley was born and raised on a Michigan fruit farm, lived with a Nicaraguan family in the United States Peace Corps, and then joined the Teach For America 2009 corps in the Delta. She taught at a Spanish immersion elementary school in Clarksdale, MS, and then transitioned to a Data Coach and technology inventory specialist for the CMSD Race To The Top Grant Office. She is motivated by the little successes in life; from a small village community designing their own fresh water project to students building confidence in their own abilities. Hawley earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Delta State University and is currently pursing a Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision.

For her social entrepreneurship project, Sarah is working with elementary students to set individual educational goals and to track their progress throughout the school year. Imagine data driven decision-making by 4th graders!
