Amanda believes every student is a mathematician and seeks to reimagine how middle school students with exceptionalities access grade-level math curriculum. Amanda is from Corbin, KY—the birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken.  She attended Eastern Kentucky University, where she graduated with a degree in Secondary Education and a minor in Special Education.

Amanda is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Special Education at Delta State. She taught in Moorhead, MS, and is currently employed as a Math Specialist for the Sunflower County Consolidated School District. Her project focuses on developing a middle school math curriculum with grade-level content standards for students with exceptionalities.

Fun Fact:  In college, Amanda was a stage coordinator for the Obstacle Course Racing World Championship.
