Jon's mission is to provide as many opportunities as possible for learners in the Mississippi Delta to learn, grow, innovate, be successful, and be joyful.

Jon is from Blaine, MN and graduated from the University of Minnesota. He taught in Rosedale, MS for three years and now is a teacher in Greenville, MS.  Jon is married to Amanda, who is also in this fellowship, and is the father of Ian, who turns 2 in April.

The Social Entrepreneurship project that Jon is working on with his wife Amanda is to create a learning farm and community space in Greenville, MS. The farm will grow organic produce and have spaces for children and adults alike to learn how to grow their own food. The community space will be available or events, parties, meetings, classes and anything else the community needs. The overall goal is to create a space where learning can happen for all ages in a beautiful and natural setting connecting people to nature and the beauty within themselves.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” A random fun fact is that Jon is terrible at making chicken sounds when reading a children’s book.
