Dylan is a fierce advocate for rural public education and works tirelessly to ensure equity for all students regardless of their background. Dylan hails from Haddon Township, New Jersey and attended college a few hours north in Madison, NJ at Drew University, majoring in economics and political science. Dylan’s first choice for his corps commitment was Teach For America – Mississippi. He taught 5th through 8th mathematics at Inverness Elementary School in the Sunflower County Consolidated School District (SCCSD). Dylan now serves as the District Data Specialist for SCCSD as a member of the Curriculum Team.

The goal of Dylan’s project is to define what “data-driven” decision making looks in the classroom. All too often, teachers are asked to ensure that their decisions are “data-driven" without given the proper tools for success. Dylan plans to work with teachers in SCCSD to build out resources and professional development to train teachers on how to make data-driven decisions.

Fun Fact: Dylan was a terrible math student, who struggled up until he got to college. Ironically, he became a middle school math teacher and district math specialist.
