Project: Dear Educator – Daily Encouragement for Those Who Teach

After years in the classroom, Alex witnessed firsthand how often teachers give everything they have while receiving little in return. The stress, emotional weight, and burnout are familiar realities for many educators—and it was this understanding that sparked the creation of Dear Educator.

Dear Educator is a daily text messaging platform that delivers short, affirming messages directly to teachers’ phones each morning. Rooted in the belief that small, intentional acts of affirmation can have a powerful impact, the platform is designed to meet teachers where they are—offering timely encouragement, empathy, and perspective.

Supported by a $3,000 grant from the TFA Graduate Fellows Program, Alex has used this year to build infrastructure, gather educator feedback, and carefully craft messages that are both meaningful and sustainable. The platform is scheduled to launch at the start of the 2025–2026 school year, with a goal to reach at least 100 educators in its first phase—and grow from there.

Fellowship Impact

Through the TFA Graduate Fellows Program, Alex gained not only funding but also the strategic mindset to turn his vision into a scalable, long-term initiative. She’s learned that real change is both emotional and structural—requiring thoughtful planning, feedback loops, and a deep understanding of the people being served.

Want to partner, pilot, or offer feedback?

The goal isn’t just to send messages—it’s to build a quiet but powerful form of support that reminds teachers that their work matters, and that they matter too.
