Monica Rosado Meredith is a dedicated Special Education teacher who is passionate about helping all students recognize their unique gifts and talents so they can feel connected to their educational environment and achieve their goals for a successful, independent life.
A first-generation Ivy League graduate, Monica earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Princeton University in 2000, followed by a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. She is currently pursuing her doctorate, another first in her family.
Growing up in the Bronx, NY, Monica experienced firsthand the difference a strong education can make. Her parents, with limited college experience, worked hard to provide her with a private elementary education—an experience that inspired her lifelong commitment to education. She joined Teach For America and taught in both Houston, TX, and Washington, DC, before finding her calling in Special Education. Over her 18+ years in the classroom, Monica has worked with students from kindergarten through eighth grade, celebrating the milestones of those who have overcome the odds to graduate.
Monica first joined the TFA Graduate Fellows Program in 2022 and remains a current Fellow, continuing her commitment to educational equity and student success.

In 2022, Monica launched a project to address the disproportionate challenges faced by students with disabilities in completing high school with a diploma—challenges worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of her students had missed years of in-person learning and lost access to extracurricular opportunities critical to skill development, confidence, and engagement.
Her project connected students with mentors who shared their interests, providing personalized guidance and support to keep them in school, explore extracurricular activities, and build skills that would help them transition successfully to life after graduation.
