Javier Peraza

Purpose Statement: I want to live a meaningful life of service to humanity by operating the within the field of education. I believe that education is the key to a healthy, empowered society.


Javier Peraza was born and raised in North Hollywood, CA. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Politics and a minor in Criminal Justice from The University of San Francisco. Javier is a 2014 Teach For America alumni who is currently in his third year of teaching English at Murrah High School in Jackson, MS.

His Social Entrepreneurship Project is called Code Mississippi. Code Mississippi is a computer science summer program for middle and high school students in Jackson, MS, with hopes to gain support and become a year-long program offered around the state of Mississippi. 

Fun Fact: Javier is a self-described 'huge' sci-fi fan and an avid lover of Star Wars.
