Lucas Rapisarda is from Winnetka, IL and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015 with degrees in Wildlife Ecology and Environmental Sociology. Lucas was a 2015 TFA corps member and taught high school science at West Bolivar High School in Rosedale, MS. After completing his two years of service, Lucas joined his roommate Jeremiah Smith as the Director of Operations at the Rosedale Freedom Project, a youth leadership organization that is committed to preparing young people to excel academically, socially, and mentally.

The Rosedale Freedom Project is a place where students can find their voice through academic enrichment, arts, and travel opportunities that help students contextualize their story and fight for a proverbial seat at the table of racial, social, and gender equality. In his second year in the TFA Fellowship, Lucas plans to expand his organizations focus on environmental education by piloting a new garden curriculum.

Fun Fact: Lucas is an avid bird watcher, and has traveled as far as Ecuador to pursue his passion.
