TFA Graduate Fellows Program

Fellows 2016

Jon Delperdang

Master of Business Administration

Purpose Statement: Do whatever I can to help as many people as i can to lead a better and more fulfilling life.

Jon is from Minneapolis, MN and studied political science and philosophy at the University of Minnesota. He taught math and ACT Prep for three years at West Bolivar High School in Rosedale, MS. This past summer Jon was blessed to get married to his wife, Amanda, and they have begun setting a foundation for building their lives together in the Mississippi Delta.

Jon is working to create a community gathering and recreation space in Greenville in the form of a skating rink. The greater Greenville area has both strengths and weaknesses and one great opportunity for the city to build upon its successes is have a recreation space where everyone from the surrounding area can come together and enjoy themselves together. ‘The Hub’ will be a place tailored to the greater Greenville community and be a social business; that is, a business that focuses more on doing good for the community than profit. Additionally, Jon plans to apply for grants to have various programming at The Hub, including tutoring, a job-training program, community conversations and additional opportunity to be part of making the greater Greenville area even greater!

Fun Fact: Jon lives in Leland, the home of Kermit the Frog Museum and Frogfest!

It’s not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of everyone, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely.
